About Me

I've read that it is advisable for blogs to have "Contact Info", a "Privacy Statement", and a blurb or two "About" the author and the blog in general.

Alright... let's get the absurd stuff out of the way.

Contact Info - There Ain't None

You and I both know that if I put an email address here it will get hit so hard with junk-mail and spam that it won't even be worth checking anymore.

This isn't a business and I'm not providing a service so there is no need to contact me and no need for me to post any contact info.

Privacy Statement

The way I see it, your private matters are your own business... but the reality is that Alphabet (formerly known as Google) is running this operation.

Whatever you, I, and whoever else posts or does in this blog goes directly into Alphabet's systems.

Everything that goes on here is most likely bundled-up and sold-off to the highest bidders by Alphabet, the NSA, the military, the government, and whoever else who has tentacles into this blog.

Now, I could probably search the Internet for some boiler-plate, "Privacy Statement" written in legalese that you and I probably will never be able to comprehend and copy-paste that mumbo-jumbo into the blog. Which I may do, someday, just because this is "America, land of the frivolous lawsuit, home of the ambulance-chasing lawyers".

Even then, Alphabet's privacy policies and legions of lawyers would override, shred, and make short work of anything I'd ever be able to acquire in terms of a "Privacy Statement".

About Me

So we've established that any notion that we may have about maintaining privacy is thrown completely out the window; none the less, I reckon you are like me and don't feel very comfortable about "putting it all out there".

Futile, I know.

So you may empathize why I, for now, prefer to use my pen-name, "Shabby Stumping" instead of my real name.

I will give out this much(though you'll probably figure out the rest if you read my blog long enough):

  • I'm a middle-aged, male,
  • I, my parents, grandparents, and great-grandparents were born and raised in America,
  • and, like millions of other Americans, I was doing OK up until the economic crash of 2008 when the ground beneath my feet suddenly disappeared, I lost pretty much everything, and haven't been able to recover since.

Well,... that's about it for now.
